Dog Cutter/Valve Driller

Features and Benefits

  • The dog Cutter is used to mill out stuck dogs utilizing a small version of a swivel that runs on a trailer mounted mast.
  • The operation can be done rig less and or rig assist.
  • The dog cutter was manufactured here at Titan to eliminate hazards from all attempts with cutting dogs with a torch, making it inconvenient not only with having to acquire a hot work permit but also putting personnel in harms way potentially.
  • The dog cutter requires it to be flanged up either on the wellhead itself or on top of the BOP if already installed.
  • 5’ Bars are available to make connections if required due to the height of the BOP equipment.
  • The unit does not require that we pump while milling out the dogs but is equipped with the ability to pump if needed.
  • The dog cutter essentially makes a dangerous job safer and mitigates all hazards associated with the outdated task.

Dog Cutter/Valve Driller

Titan Oilfield Services is pleased to introduce one of it’s latest Creations. This is what we are calling the “Dog Cutter.  This Machine is used to cut off the rusted up, stuck donut rams inside tubing hangers. With different sizes of shoes to accommodate the different sizes of wellheads, the dogs are cut flush with the inside of the wellhead, allowing the tubing hanger to be pulled free. Rigging up is quick and the dogs can be cut off in flush in just a matter of minutes. No Need for a Welder and Torch.

We can also use this same machine to drill out stuck, frozen and/or damaged valves. Equipped with a stuffing box and a kill port, we are prepared for possible well control issues as needed.

Additional pictures showing that this service can be done either with a rig or rigless.
